Rose Garden Portraits with a Studio Add-On
As a member of the 2022 AHP Model Team, it is no surprise that Kiauna made her Rose Garden portraits with a studio add-on absolutely phenomenal! From the bright colors of the summer flowers to the tall, dried grass at Fort Stilly, and of course her variety of outfits, Kiauna brought her own look and feel to this session. And how great did it turn out?!
Studio Add-On
To begin our session, we started off with some in-studio photo work at my downtown space, Studio 253. This location offers a ton of natural light from the big windows as well as studio lighting to highlight our seniors’ gorgeous features. Along with one of her classic, floral summer dresses, Kiauna also showed off her Rogers High School volleyball gear. With the addition of those blue-checkered Vans, the entire fit really popped! Studio time is perfect for focusing solely on the senior or incorporating whatever else they may want to shine some light on. We all love a great summer location, but it can be nice to have a more neutral, timeless background just for a few shots!
Best Tacoma Locations in July and August
After our studio time, Kiauna and I headed to Fort Steilacoom and Point Defiance to catch all of the beauty that summer has to offer. If you want the variety and colors that truly scream summertime, then you have to head to the Point Defiance Rose gardens. There are so many different flower varieties, locations, and little hidden nooks where we can take specialized photos so that your portraits don’t look exactly like your friends!! And there are more than just roses here! One of the best parts of summer portraits in Tacoma is that amazing, tall, dried grass. Which is only possible for a few short months when the rain stops and the grasses dry out. Maybe it’s the limited seasonality, but come on, who doesn’t look stunning standing in a gorgeous field of gold?!
Summer Fit Tips For Senior Photos
Summer is simply the perfect time for senior portraits, especially if you love looking tan. Between the endless hours of sun and a rotating variety of colors, each location has something new to offer each senior. And when it comes to outfits, you can wear whatever you want! While dresses and sandals are such cute summer staples, don’t feel you have to shy away from your favorite pair of Converse or ripped jeans just to fit the weather. Miss Kiauna wore a combination of jeans, dresses, skirts, and a number of different style tops. All of which looked AH-mazing in each location. Summer really will work for whatever vibe you want your senior photos to have. Just look at Kiauna’s fits for some totally great inspiration! I mean seriously, that red dress!! All I can say is go buy it because I’m in love!
