It is so important to get a family portrait session in once a year, especially since kids change so much from year to year. And for those with a senior in the family, booking a family portrait session before graduation is essential. Before you know it, your high school grad will be headed off to college and starting a whole new adventure!

I am such a people person, and I simply love meeting everyone in the family. I encourage my clients to get as many generations as we can together for their family portrait sessions. This is an ah-mazing way to make sure grandma and grandpa have professional photos with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It creates memories for the whole family, and your kids will be able to look back at the photos and remember those sweet moments with their grandparents.
Sharing Family Portraits for Years to Come
Family portrait sessions give you photos that you can treasure for a lifetime and pass onto future generations. These photos show your family history, and your children, your grandchildren, and your great-grandchildren will all be able to see them. That’s why it’s so important to print your photos after your family portrait session. I offer heirloom quality prints and products, so you can display your portraits and pass them on.
Posting photos on social media is not enough. There is no guarantee that Facebook will be around forever, so posting your photos to a Facebook album is temporary. Having tangible prints and albums ensures your portraits last.

This is a way for me to not only get to know my Model Team girls better, but I also get to know their families. What to Wear for Timeless Family Portraits
If you have never booked a family portrait session before, you may be wondering what to wear! I have plenty of tips on my AHP blog, but you can also check out my Pinterest for more inspiration. I recommend choosing a color palette that you like and letting your family members mix and match within the palette. That way, everyone looks coordinated without feeling too matchy.
One of my recent sessions included everyone in white with shades of blue. Some of the girls wore prints, while others stuck to solid tones. And the guys could be comfortable in blue jeans! This was such a fun session, and I’m excited to share photos from it for inspiration.
