Point Defiance Sunset Senior Session
Brissa and I had so much fun during her Point Defiance sunset senior session! This session was during the fires and subsequent smoke in August of 2018. I am used to shooting in all different conditions, and we prepared for it to get dark earlier than usual. The sunset was gorgeous and I am so excited to share these stunning senior portraits.
Point Defiance Senior Portraits
Point Defiance is one of the best outdoor locations for senior portraits in Tacoma. There is so much to explore there, and every session I have at Point Defiance ends up being totally unique. Brissa and I explored the garden and walked around the park. I always have a picnic blanket on hand for photos, and we spread it out in the garden for some fun, casual senior portraits. I simply love the pop of color the flowers bring to senior portraits! After we explored the garden, we headed down to Owen Beach for the most ah-mazing sunset.
Sunset Session
Owen Beach has awesome driftwood that is perfect for posing. Brissa was barefoot for this part of her session, and she had no problem climbing over the driftwood and exploring the beach. We watched the sunset over the water together and appreciated the stunning colors. It got dark early, so we got out the flash for some night photos. I am so grateful to Brissa for trusting me! As a professional photographer, I have to be prepared for every situation, from inclement weather to minimal light.
Late Summer Fashion
This summer session has all the outfit inspiration you could need for senior portraits. Brissa found most of her clothes thrifting, which is proof you don’t need to break the bank to look ah-mazing for your senior portraits. Brissa’s favorite thrift shop is Grannies’ Attic in Puyallup. She found so many great outfit pieces there.
Some of Brissa’s outfits were total throwbacks! She wore jean overalls – just like I did in high school – and paired them with white Chuck Taylors. And her plaid pants went perfectly with a crop top and Birkenstocks. Brissa accessorized each outfit with fun anklets, Pura Vida bracelets, and a delicate necklace.
