May Flower Pop-Up Shoots

When the spring flowers start popping in Washington, that is when I get super excited for pop-up shoots with the girls. Our May flower pop-up shoots are the first of the season! Last year, we were able to do a series of wildflower portraits before the weather and rain wiped them all out. You can check out those shoots on our AHP Seniors blog, linked here! With the new class of Model Team girls selected, I was more than ready to get back out into the fields with my camera in hand for the start of this gorgeous PNW season! 

PNW Wildflower Locations

This year I found some AH-mazing new locations to introduce the girls to. Full of wisteria (hello purple, my fave!), and blue wildflowers, we had endless backgrounds to choose from. Including a gorgeous tree with flowers so pink they didn’t look real! Western Washington is normally green, green, and more green all the time. Which is beautiful in its own right, however, I am always pumped for the time of year when the colorful wildflowers come out and we can capture all their beauty on film. It’s a great time of year to get the girls out of the Studio and into the sunshine, and the best time of year for our new fancy dress rental shoots, which you can learn more about on our website! 

New Season, New Model Team

Spring is the season of all things new! New life, new flowers, and just like the buds on the trees, we’ve got a new lineup of AH-mazing models to introduce to the AHP family! Our Class of 2024 is ready to bloom and May has the sunshine to help coax them out of their shells. This group of girls has brought an explosion of energy to AHP and into their portraits! We had so much fun exploring the wildflower fields and picking the spots where they felt most beautiful and inspired. Dressing for these pop-up shoots is probably one of the best parts too! The girls brought so many cute sundresses and shoes to choose from. They all looked fabulous! 

That Time You Frolicked Through A Field of Flowers

There aren’t many times in your life when you can frolic through a field of flowers in a colorful sundress with 5 of your friends by your side! And not with a professional photographer to capture it all! Part of feeling beautiful is allowing the girls to be exactly who they are at this stage of their life. And knowing that have a community that supports and understands them. They have plenty of other worries during their senior year to focus on. But during these shoots, none of that matters. This is their time to relax, have fun, and feel comfortable in their skin. If they take anything away from their time on the team, it should be that they are perfect just the way they are. Everything else is just a bonus!
