Spring Senior Portraits at Point Defiance
This lovely young lady had her spring senior portraits at Point Defiance! Breanna and I met in May to shoot this session; spring was in full bloom! She had the cutest selection of outfits for the day and made sure each one was totally unique. This shoot is a great example of creating variation in your outfits, while still dressing like yourself! If you love everything springtime, then this is the shoot for you!
Early May Flowers
While we went to a few locations for this session, our main stop was Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. This was an early May shoot and the flowers and bushes were poppin’!! Most of these colors are only visible in spring, making this time of year the most vibrant to shoot during. We got to see purple, orange, white, and pink flowers, not to mention the bright green grass and leaves that surrounded everything. I loved editing these and seeing how each color complemented Breanna’s chosen outfit. While full of life, May isn’t normally the warmest time of year. But we lucked out, and got a warm session which we both were grateful for!
PNW Beach Portraits
From the flowers, we moved on to Breanna’s waterfront look. She brought a gorgeous navy blue, shimmer dress and heels to match! We did a few shots on the walkways and stairs next to the water, and then she lost the shoes, braved the cold, and got right in! So darn cute!! Living this close to many bodies of water in the PNW, I love when we are able to make these beachy portraits happen. Can’t go wrong with a pebble beach, some sunshine, and the dark blue water from the sound!
Incorporating Hobbies into Your Senior Session
Senior Portraits are all about celebrating you and your senior year! Which means they are the perfect opportunity to highlight hobbies, sports, and activities that have been a part of your life. Some people wear letterman jackets that show off their pins and patches, while others bring instruments or jerseys from their sports team. Miss Breanna got to show off her love for tennis and the photos turned out SO good. I love how she incorporated one of her sports into the session. Action shots can be so much fun!
