2021 Prom Mini Sessions | Amanda Howse Photography
Senior year is filled with milestones, and I simply love seeing seniors make the most of their time with their friends before heading off to different colleges and other adventures. The past year has been difficult with COVID-19, lockdowns, social distancing, and online learning. While there probably won’t be a prom this year, I want seniors to know that they can still dress up with their friends and do something fun! I am so excited to offer 2021 prom mini sessions for seniors.
Prom Portraits for Seniors
So many high school students look forward to their senior prom, planning out what their dress or tux will look like, what kind of flowers they’ll have, and who they’ll take as a date (or if they would rather rent a limo with friends!). Picking out your prom outfit is such a fun tradition. It might even be the first time you’ve picked out a special occasion outfit for yourself.
Prom portraits show off your prom look and capture you in your best light. It’s so much fun to grab a date or your group of friends and book one of these mini sessions. We can spend the session listening to music, exploring the city or local parks, and making the most of the day. These portraits also give you a way to look back on one of the highlights of your senior year.
Where to Take Prom Portraits in Tacoma
There are a ton of awesome spots in Tacoma where we can take your prom portraits, and I have so much fun scouting out cool locations with modern architecture and fun backgrounds. The Museum of Glass is always a popular spot for these portraits, and the glass sculptures in the background are ah-mazing. We can also head down to the waterfront, explore Owen Beach and Point Defiance, or have fun near Opera Alley.
One of my favorite locations is my very own studio in downtown Tacoma. A wall of windows lets in natural light, and we are always switching up the décor. We also have a fun new 4×4 box in the studio.
What to Wear for Prom Mini Sessions
Your prom outfit should reflect your style. If you are taking portraits with a date, you may want to coordinate colors! You can narrow it down to a specific color palette, like navy blue, ivory, and grey, so that you look like a couple without feeling overly matchy. It’s also so cool when friend groups coordinate outfits. All black is a sleek look, whether it is a long gown or a full suit. You can also pick a corsage or boutonniere that matches your prom outfits.
Whether you choose a funky, unique look or have more of a timeless, simple style, we’ll make sure you look your best for your prom mini session. I work with some awesome hair and makeup artists and am always happy to share recommendations with my seniors! Getting glammed up is one of the best parts of senior prom.
