Tacoma Senior Prom Portraits
Other than graduation, one moment that nearly every senior looks forward to is prom. This is a major milestone for seniors. We are so sad for the Class of 2020, as their senior year looks different than they expected. Our hearts go out to them, and we want to help them experience prom. Getting ready, seeing your friends all dressed up, and taking photos together is one of the best parts of prom.
Once we are allowed to safely shoot sessions and be in public again, I will be scheduling prom dress mini-shoots for the Class of 2020. This is going to be a super fun way to get all dressed up, show off your gorgeous prom looks, and spend time with your friends. Our current reality is ever-changing, but that does not mean we cannot look forward to things like getting dressed up and having fun. Prom Portraits in Tacoma
There are so many spots I love for the best prom portraits in Tacoma. The waterfront is gorgeous and there is so much awesome architecture around to pose in front of. There are gorgeous gardens and landscaped trails that can take your prom portraits up a notch. We can even take portraits at your house before heading into the city. Make sure your prom group arrives on time so we can get everyone in the photos!
Prepared for Prom
I have more than just photography tips up my sleeve. It’s so important to be prepared for prom with an emergency kit! I tell my senior girls to pack a metal tin (Altoids tins are perfect for this!) with all the essentials. If you didn’t have a chance to break in your prom heels, be sure you tuck a couple of Band-Aids in your kit. You’ll also want fashion tape and bobby pins; you never know when they might be needed in a pinch. A mini stain remover pen can protect your gorgeous gown against unexpected spills. Oil-absorbing sheets for your face are great too for ensuring you are portrait-ready.
Prom Dress Style
I love how everyone’s unique style comes through. Picking out your prom dress is a huge decision. There are so many different options to choose from. Pinterest is a great place to start for inspiration. You can get a feel for current trends, different silhouettes, and overall looks that you are drawn towards. This is a chance to really dress up and invest in a gorgeous formal gown. From sparkly ballgowns to sleek silhouettes, there is a prom dress for every girl! And it’s so fun to coordinate with your date on color schemes and details.
And don’t forget about the accessories! Picking out shoes, jewelry, and hairpieces is part of the fun. If your dress is bold and sparkly, you might want to look at delicate jewelry. If you have a simpler gown, you can kick it up a notch with statement pieces. Heels are so much fun for dressing up, but make sure to pick a comfortable pair for dancing.
Dance the Night Away
Prom is something every senior wants to experience. You get to spend the night with all of your friends, glammed up and dancing the night away. Even if this year is different than what you expected, you can still do all of those things! Prom portraits will give you something to look back on for years to come.
