Point Ruston Senior Portraits | AHP
These Point Ruston senior portraits have it all: gorgeous sunshine, the best fall fashion, and the Tacoma waterfront! Mali and I explored the new Pt. Ruston in Tacoma for her session, and it was the perfect fall day. I am so excited to share more from this 2020 graduate’s senior session!
October Senior Portraits in Point Ruston
If you know me, you know that October is my favorite month. It is so gorgeous in Tacoma in the fall, and I think it’s one of the best months for senior sessions. The weather is crisp, so you can wear layers and have fun accessorizing. But there is still sunny weather, so we get all that yummy light for your portraits. And who doesn’t love fall colors? With the leaves changing, outdoor sessions in October have so much color.
The AHP Style Closet
One of the fun parts of fall senior portraits is the fashion! Mali wore layers for her senior portraits and she made a plaid trench coat look so cool and trendy. It elevated her look and kept her warm in the shade. I love it when a fashionable piece is also practical.
Making sure my seniors feel confident for their senior portraits is so important to me, and outfits can play a huge role in this. At my studio in downtown Tacoma, I have the AHP Style Closet, a full wardrobe room for my seniors to borrow from. It includes fun, trendy pieces like faux fur jackets, hats, and boots, along with stylish dresses, sweaters, skirts, and a ton of accessories. Mali borrowed a tan sweater, green jumper, pink skirt, and gold go-go boots from the AHP Style Closet, and I love how she styled them!
Accessorizing for Point Ruston Senior Portraits
Mali accessorized her fall outfits for her senior portraits perfectly. She wore hoop earrings and a circle ring, with colorful scrunchies on her wrists. It is so fun that scrunchies have come back in style! I always recommend seniors get a manicure before their session, and Mali chose a light neutral color that looked so pretty.
She chose the best shoes for each outfit too. Shoes are such an important accessory. For her more casual looks, Mali chose pink Vans. Not only were they super cute, but also comfortable and practical for walking along the waterfront! She dressed up some of her outfits with brown suede ankle booties and went full glam with the gold go-go boots.
Bringing a Parent to Your Senior Portraits
I’ve talked before about who to bring to your senior session, and I just love it when my seniors bring a parent along. This is a big day for them, too, and including them is so sweet. They are there to support you and give you an extra boost of confidence, but I also put them to work!
Mali brought her dad along to her senior session, and I have to say he is one of the best reflector holders out there! He held the reflector to make sure I always captured Mali in her best light, and I had so much fun seeing how these two interacted. You can just tell Mali’s dad is so proud of her and all she has accomplished.
