Spring Point Defiance Senior Portrait Session

Spring Point Defiance Senior Portrait Session

This spring Point Defiance senior portrait session is a throwback to my old studio days in 2018! Averyana was referred to me by a friend, and we had a blast. We started in my old studio (just a block from where Studio 253 is now) for some indoor portraits before heading to Point Defiance.

Point Defiance Rose Garden Portraits

Point Defiance has flowers blooming year-round, but we chose to capture Averyana’s rose garden portraits in April. This is when all the rhododendrons are in full bloom, along with tulips and other colorful flowers. Rhodys are the Washington state flower and having them in your senior portraits is an ah-mazing way to celebrate the beauty of the PNW.

Spring Style

Averyana has such a versatile style, and she wore both casual and dressy outfits for her senior portraits. Bringing different outfits ensures your portraits have variety. This boss babe was inspired by the rose garden when picking some of her outfits, and she wore the cutest floral dress!

In the studio, Averyana rocked fun yellow heels. But when it came time to adventure, she swapped out her heels for comfy sandals. Bringing an extra pair of shoes that are easy to walk in is always a good idea. We’ll be walking between locations during your session, and outdoor sessions often involve uneven ground. The last thing you want during your senior session is a sprained ankle! Averyana rocked the barefoot look, too.

Pop of Color

Another way we add pops to color to senior portrait sessions: fun picnic blankets! I always keep a few different color blankets in my car to add to shoots. This gives a fun vibe to the portraits and makes it more comfortable to sit on the ground during your session. You can also bring your own blanket or props to personalize your portraits.

Bring a Parent

Averyana brought her mom to her senior portrait session. Whoever you bring with you to your senior portrait session is welcome to pop into a few frames! How cute are Averyana and her mom together?
