Andreá and I had the BEST time for her gorgeous senior session chasing the sunlight at Point Defiance! I got to see Pt. Defiance through Andreá’s eyes and boy is it different than the place I know!! Andreá goes to SAMI, so we wanted to take her senior portraits near where she has attended so many high school classes! She also goes to TCC for Running Start, so she has really gotten to know the Tacoma area! I loved exploring the city with her!
High School Days near Point Defiance
We wandered around Pt. Defiance and the path near Owen Beach and captured gorgeous portraits! Andreá shared her stories of classes, eating at the boat dock (and the gross hot dogs no one touched), and showed us where she had lunch most days!! We loved reliving all those memories with her, and it was such an amazing reflection of her high school days!
Including the Family
One of the best parts of Andreá’s session was who was there with her! Her big sister Aubrey came along to help out – even if initially it made them late!! Apparently they “lost” their car at the mall… whoops! It’s so easy to do, but luckily they found it and showed up where Hair and Makeup Artist Kari and I were waiting for them! They recounted the story of why they were running late, and their laughter was contagious! We even got some uber-cute photos of the two of them together!
Model Style
I have been lucky enough to shoot this gorgeous girl for over a year now! She is a fashion model and we met when she modeled for Intaglio Salon and Purpose Clothing Boutique! Andreá is so comfortable in her own skin, whether she is in front of the camera or not. She knows how to move, and movement is the key to getting great photos!!
Andreá also has the best style! She kept it simple with a normal teenage outfit (you can’t go wrong with mom jeans and checkered Vans!) before changing into heels and a dress!! To switch up her style, she wore a few hats from the AHP Style Closet! I love how much variety she had with her outfits and how she changed things up throughout her session!
Professional Hair and Makeup
Karli did an awesome job at matching Andreá’s makeup to her monotone outfits. The gorgeous tones she picked were a fall daydream – think shades of orange and mustard yellow. OMG they popped with her gorgeous skin tone!! One of the many reasons I am excited to offer professional hair & makeup with every senior session.
A Perfect Day
This girl just has the best personality! Her laugh is contagious and I just love being around her! I am so thankful she trusted me to capture her senior portraits. We had so much fun wandering around the city, telling stories! We ended the night by trying out our deer calls to the Pt. Defiance deer who come out in droves at dusk. Before we knew it, it was dark out. What a perfect day!
