Boho Studio Portraits

These Boho studio portraits are for all my macrame-loving ladies! There is something about this session that just screams summertime fun! The carefree and relaxed nature of the set brought us back to the warm PNW days that you cannot help but love. I don’t think we could have picked a better shoot for the Class of 2022 Model Team and I am so excited to show you some of the photos from this fabulous day! 

What is Boho?

We have all heard the term “Boho” or even “Boho-Chic” before, but you might be wondering what exactly it means! Boho is short for bohemian. A style that was at its height of popularity in the mid-2000s, think around 2005. Recently, the style made a resurgence of influence in 2022, with crocheted, layered, and flowy patterns being seen back in runway shows and fashion media. It is a free-spirit aesthetic that combines bold colors, unconventional, and organic elements. Actresses and models like Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, and the Olsen twins were famous for their boho-chic style. Fast forward to today, and Gigi Hadid can be seen wearing her version of the style. 

AHP Styled Shoot

Just like the models before us, we took the Boho style and made it our own! Most of the outfits and accessories the girls wore in this shoot are from the AHP Style Closet (a fashion treasure trove with a little bit of everything!). Everyone shared dresses and headpieces, and they all looked and felt so Boho in their way. I loved seeing how they made each piece their own! They rocked loose, flowy outfits, hats, chunky jewelry, and flowers. Which went perfectly with the set!

Aesthetic Studio Space

For this this shoot, The team and I went to a fellow photographer’s studio (all the photos were taken using studio lights). The set was perfect.  It had ALL the boho aesthetic that we could not wait to jump right into! This is one thing I love about the photography community. Sharing each other’s spaces and collabing on cool projects. It is amazing seeing what each artist creates! The warm, tan, and orange color palette of the space felt so inviting. The studio had a carefully decorated macrame bed, surrounded by pampas grass, cozy rugs, and lots of cute pillows. It had such a natural feel that translated directly to the portraits! The girls absolutely rocked this shoot!
