Buckley River Portraits

These Buckley River portraits were the perfect opportunity to have some summer fun with the AHP Model Team! This was one of our monthly group shoots, and it was a HOT day in early August. So we headed into the river and brought the camera along to capture it all!! I’m all about mixing work and play, and this shoot was a prime example of how much fun the girls and I get up to during our sessions! 

Summertime Adventure Shoot

Some days in the PNW are too hot to handle! It was on one of those days this summer that we planned our monthly Model Team photoshoot. We headed to the water for a much-needed break from the heat. Everyone must have had the same idea; the riverfront was packed!! But that didn’t stop us. We made the best of it and you’d never know from the photos! The girls did such a good job posing with all the people around them. It’s more complicated than when we have a private photoshoot in the studio or a field. You have to block out all the distractions and focus on the portraits. They did AH-mazing!

Sundresses and Sunflowers

For our adventure, the girls all wore the cutest dresses that were perfect to get into the water with. I mean, what else do you wear for a shoot in the river?? Flowy and bright sundresses are the ideal fit to complement the dark green WA scenery. The girls played with lots of fun poses on rocks, surrounding trees, and by the cool bridge. We even brought a bouquet of colorful sunflowers for them to use as a prop for some of the shots. They looked so good!! This shoot just perfectly captures summertime in the PNW and getting out and enjoying the beauty nature has to offer!

Senior Year Sisterhood 

Looking at these photos and hanging out with the girls during our shoots, it’s so clear to me how much of a bond they all share. Joining the Model Team, not only do you get time behind the camera for 6 months BEFORE your senior session, but you also gain a new group of girls to cheer you on! You learn new modeling skills, and get hundreds of cute and professional photos, plus, you get a bunch of friends who are going through the same senior year stresses and joys that you are.
