Spring Tacoma Senior Portraits
You never know what the weather will bring for spring Tacoma senior portraits, but Emily and I still had fun in the rain! The overcast skies gave us soft light that was simply stunning. Not to mention how gorgeous the Tacoma cherry blossoms are in the spring. This is a fun throwback post from last year, but I look forward to the cherry blossoms every year.
Mini Rain Showers
Emily and I made sure we had umbrellas in the wagon before we set out for her Wright Park senior session. I am prepared for anything with my seniors. My trusty wagon happily holds outfit changes, accessories, and anything we need to withstand the elements. In between mini rain showers, we were able to capture some gorgeous portraits of Miss Emily smiling in the park.
Spring Outfit Inspiration
While I love shooting summer and fall sessions, spring is such a great time for senior portraits too. The weather is just starting to warm up but it’s not too hot yet. That means seniors can rock jeans and long sleeve shirts or a summery dress with layers. Emily brought a couple of outfits that were just the best for a spring senior portrait session in Tacoma.
First, she wore a soft white lace dress with a classic jean jacket and wedge booties. The cropped jean jacket was the perfect spring layer. She swapped out the white dress for a teal one that complemented the bold garden flowers. Emily was not afraid to wear bold colors for her session, including a red sweater and printed skirt.
Professional Hair and Makeup
Emily was glammed up for her senior portrait session by my professional HMUA, Kara. For a few of Emily’s outfits, Kara used soft nude colors. She switched up Emily’s lip color for the bold outfits. Emily wore her gorgeous hair down, pulled back, and with a side braid. It is so much fun bringing Kara along for on-site hair and makeup touch-ups and different looks for each outfit. I love making sure my seniors are pampered before their session and look their best throughout the day! Plus, Kara & I make a great team, and you will enjoy your session with this set of redheads!
Surprise Visit
I love when seniors bring along their parents, besties, or even the family pet. You may notice a cute dog in a few of Emily’s photos – this was a surprise cameo from a passerby! Someone was walking by with their cute Shiba Inu and Emily could not resist including him in a couple of her portraits – and the owners agreed!
Every session is unique, and Emily and I had so much fun during her Wright Park senior portraits. I am so grateful to Emily and her family for choosing me as her senior photographer.
