Perfect Summer Senior Photos
Do the perfect summer senior photos exist? After Miss Marlie’s session, you won’t have to wonder any longer! This Class of 2024 senior and I had the perfect weather to shoot her summer portraits. Complete with surprise appearances from her little brother and adorable puppy, we proved that you don’t have to go very far from home to get senior photos that you and your family will cherish forever!
Highlighting The People and Places You Love
Sometimes the best location for your senior photos can be right in your own backyard, literally! When seniors are looking for that perfect place to get portraits taken I advise them to pick spots that feel the most like them. For Marlie, that spot was home! We started her session right in her backyard with professional H+MU and a clothing rack of selected outfits. Marlie’s backyard is a dream, full of sunflowers, a barn, swings, and all the places (and people) she loves. We spent most of the day getting shots there before we hopped in the car to catch the sunset at Chambers Bay!
Summertime Senior Styles
During our pre-session wardrobe consultation (complimentary for every AHP senior), Marlie and I went through her clothes to pick the best summertime styles to match her portraits. This girl loves short dresses, baggy jeans, and neutral colors, so that’s what we stuck to! The outfits we plan also have to be comfy. If she can’t move freely, then she won’t feel confident or comfortable during the shoot and those two things are a must! With those factors in mind, we were able to put together a lineup of outfits that were perfect for the natural, summertime style she envisioned! How do you think we did?
What Our Seniors Love About AHP
While you get to hear from me in every blog post, I think it’s equally important that you hear from our seniors too! As part of our prep, I like to ask the girls what they like and more importantly, don’t like in photography work they have seen. This is what Marlie had to say: “Sometimes you can tell that people are uncomfortable in their pictures whether it be the pose or outfit etc. I think with Amanda she does a great job of making you comfy and the session chill.” For me, comfort is key to producing the best photos. There isn’t anything better than knowing your clients are relaxed during the shoot and capturing their genuine smiles because of it. Best feeling in the world!
