Summertime Gig Harbor Portraits
Mid-August is one of the most popular times that seniors request for their portraits. Josie’s summertime Gig Harbor portraits will give you an idea of why! As a member of our Class of 2024 Model Team, Josie and I have spent hours together working on all kinds of portraits. For her session, this spirited teen wanted a mix of styles to show off all the things that represent her. We started our day off at the heart of the city in Downtown Tacoma!
Parking Garage Portraits
Right out the doors of my studio, Studio253, there are so many AH-mazing spots to take portraits. Josie is all about the grunge and graffiti look, which means we got to spend the day taking pictures at some of the best murals in the city. Her cute crop tops and high-waisted green jeans were the perfect outfit to pair with this area. For urban senior portraits, parking garages and rooftops are also some of the best spots to check out! We had so much fun taking photos on top of the city, bringing up memories of the chic rooftop portraits we had taken for her sister not too long ago!
Why You Should Always Bring Your Sister to Your Senior Session
One of the coolest parts about having been in the photography business for over 20 years, is that I get to be a part of families for longer than just one shoot. Depending on the family, I get to work with many of their kids back to back. In 2022, during her sister Molly’s session, Miss Josie came along to show her support and get a glimpse at what her senior portraits could look like. A year later, Molly was right by Josie’s side cheering her younger sister on too! How sweet are they? It can make all the difference having your sister, bestie, or close family member with you at your session. It’s so special to see!
Sunset at Chambers Bay
We ended our day at Chamber’s Bay like so many seniors love to do! This time though, Josie did not pick this location for the water. She was all about the long, dry, summer grass vibes to accompany her sunset pics. She decided on a long white sundress and a blue bodycon as her last two outfits. With her long, wavy hair, these portraits looked straight out of a Free People ad. So stunning! A beautiful ode to summer and the end of Josie’s time as a senior. I can’t wait to see what she does next!
