Are you ready for some epic, urban senior photos in downtown Tacoma? High school senior Brooke Nelson and I had the best time wandering around her location of choice at UW Tacoma for her senior photography session! Brooke was accepted into UW to study science and play softball. She is passionate and driven and I was so excited to help her integrate her interests into the shoot.
This location allowed me to get creative and translate even the simplest spots on campus into the most amazing finished photos. Hiring the right professional that understands angles, lighting, and tones is absolutely essential. You want to have confidence that your photos will translate into something beautiful — no matter what location you choose! The right pro should be able to turn any spot into a great photo opportunity.
Excited for the Future
I could feel Brooke’s excitement for the future as we continued to walk through the University of Washington. I love the campus steps and we made sure to capture a few portraits at the iconic “W” sign on campus. After all, this boss babe can rock a letter jacket and Huskies T-shirt just as well as a long, flowy floral gown!
Celebrating Role Models
We also wanted to make sure we got her mother in some of the photos with Brooke! Brooke shared with me that her biggest role model is her mom because:
“She’s been by my side supporting & encouraging me since day 1. She is the reason I am who I am today. I look up to her in every way and I hope that one day I can be as good of a mom to my children as she is. I don’t know what I’d do without her.”
Brooke’s mom is one of the many inspirations for all of Brooke’s hard work (3.97 GPA!), involvement in her school and community, and dreams for the future.
