Haunted Halloween Photoshoot
Goblins, witches, and ghouls, oh my! The AHP Class of 2024 wants to wish you all a spooky end of October with our haunted Halloween photoshoot! If you are easily scared by spider webs and skeletons or get squeamish at the sight of blood (don’t worry, it’s fake!), this may be a shoot you want to skip. However, if you love all the creepy, scary, and crawly things about Halloween, get ready to join the Model Team in these festive photos! Let’s get spooky!
I am Creative Space
We had three Model Team girls from the Class of 2024 opt in for this year’s themed shoot. To make it extra fun, we rented the awesome studios at I Am Creative Space. I Am Creative is a chain of photography studios and creative spaces. They offer 5 uniquely designed rooms in 2 Tacoma locations to accommodate portraits of all styles and parties of all sizes. Last year, Model Team member Mallory and I did a spooky Halloween shoot here and had such a good time that I knew I had to open it up to more people! You can check out that spooky session on the blog!
Prom Night Gone Wrong
Our theme for this event was “Prom Night Gone Wrong.” It reminds me of all the classic scary movies that involve high school students and we thought it fit perfectly with the space. The girls dressed up in dark colors, donned Gothic wardrobes with ripped tights, and topped off their looks with really dramatic hair and makeup. Although I always encourage the girls to experiment with their looks during our regular portrait sessions, doing themed shoots brings the creativity to a whole new level! We all deserve to get out of our comfort zones and for those who love Halloween, I can’t think of a better way to let loose and have a great night! Luckily for all of us, this “prom night” didn’t result in any dead model girls!
Setting up the Scene
One of the reasons I love working with I Am Creative is how special each of their holiday sets are. They go above and beyond, thinking of all the little details that make their rooms picture-perfect. Not only do they look great on camera, but they also provide props, lights, and accessories that really set the scene in person too. The extra effort helps the models (or anyone using the space) get into their roles and act it up. We played with their spooky lights, the fog machine, and of course the creepy skulls! This has become one of my favorite activities to add to my fall list. I cannot wait to do it again next year! What do you think? Would you want to be a part of a creepy Halloween shoot??
