LA Senior Photo Workshop
I have been dreaming of attending this LA senior photo workshop for years!! And last month, I finally got my shot! This workshop was led by the infamous (in the senior photog world) Miss Tara Rochelle of Tara Rochelle Photography. I had a blast shooting with such a talented artist and developing my craft alongside her. It is so rewarding to work with new people in the industry, some who I have admired for years and some who I’ve just met! Workshops like these fill my creative cup and inspire me to try new and exciting things! Just look how fun these photos turned out!!
Shooting in the Heart of the Film and Entertainment Industry
For this workshop, we traveled down to Los Angeles, California! What a dream! LA is such a cool location to shoot at for so many reasons. I have traveled all over the world, but working in the hub of the film and entertainment industry was on a different level. Of course, Tara had the best locations all picked out! Fun Fact: we got to shoot at the same location as this Harry Styles music video. Well, technically it was a One Direction video, but still, how cool is that?? This desert location had everything we were envisioning to match the aesthetic Tara crafted for our shoot. What a stunning background for these looks!
Retro-Beatles Shoot and Studio Session
We had two other shoots during the workshop which couldn’t have been more perfect for the current style trends. Totally retro and timeless. Tara took us to an awesome Beatles-themed house with endless inspiration in every room. From the mid-century bar to the hot pink fuzzy floor, and color-pop sitting room, the house was a photographer’s dream, floor-to-ceiling. Tara also brought us to her fabulous California studio for a vibrant senior session with her models. And I love how she styled each of them. Distinct and fun in their own way!
Creating a Modern-Editorial Style
The models for this workshop were truly AH-mazing. Tara’s technique is all about mixing modern and editorial elements to get a unique style for her portraits. Perfect for the SoCal area she represents. Her models were a fun group of girls who I loved getting to know! Learning, networking with other photogs, and seeing how others work are part of what makes these workshop experiences so rewarding! You all already know how much of an extrovert I am, but these trips are always a blast! I’m already dreaming of the next one I get to share! Where should I shoot next??
