These modern senior portraits in Sumner are the perfect balance of boho, natural style, and an urban setting. Miss Kyra wanted unique senior portraits that captured her style and incorporated the different things she loves. By choosing Sumner for her senior portraits, we were able to wander around the city before heading to Lake Tapps for mountain views and a gorgeous sunset.
Bringing Your Family to Senior Portraits
Miss Kyra brought along both of her parents and her cousin for her senior session. Bringing along a parent, friend, or close family member gives you an extra boost of confidence. It also gives me an extra hand to help with lighting! Kyra is quiet and shy, and I am so grateful she trusted me to capture her senior portraits. I have taken senior portraits for a few of her dancer friends, and it is awesome that Kyra found me through them.
Dancer Style
It was early October for Miss Kyra’s modern senior portraits in Sumner, but the weather was beautiful. Kyra chose a few different dresses for her session. She kicked things off with a long sleeve, black shirt under a black and white gingham dress. Black tights and ankle boots completed the look. She changed into an olive green skirt and black t-shirt with layered necklaces. I simply love how she layered her outfit pieces and jewelry. And her modern style fit right in with the exposed brick, metal staircases, and urban vibes.
Miss Kyra is a dancer, and her wardrobe included a floral print dress and beautiful blush pointe shoes. She looked so graceful in the city, and I just love the juxtaposition of the industrial setting with her feminine style. For her sunset portraits, she chose a stunning white dress with a ruffled top, and a blush cardigan over a little black dress.
Professional Hair and Makeup
Professional hair and makeup is a must for any senior portrait session, which is why it’s included when you book with AHP. Miss Kyra loves her long hair. It is so fun to see the different trends each year, and long hair is definitely in fashion. She chose to wear hers in loose curls, and it looked simply stunning.
Miss Kyra also loves trying out different makeup looks. Our pro HMUA Tracie highlighted Kyra’s features with natural makeup and a bold eye. Her hair and makeup looked ah-mazing with every outfit.
Getting to Know Kyra
In addition to dancing, Kyra loves to swim. She also paints, draws, and sings. This awesome member of the Model Team has plans to study chemistry and go into pre-med. I know she will find her way in the medical field, and I cannot wait to see all that she accomplishes.
I also love hearing what my seniors are most excited for when they start college. Miss Kyra can’t wait to decorate her dorm room! She has the best style, and I know her dorm room will feel personalized and cozy. I hope she decorates it with her paintings and continues to pursue all her interests.
Wandering around Sumner and Lake Tapps
To make sure Miss Kyra had the variety she wanted for her senior portraits, we chose two locations: Sumner and Lake Tapps. Sumner had the city vibes, while Lake Tapps showed off the natural beauty of the PNW. Mountain views are often a must for senior portraits, and I simply love sunsets in Lake Tapps. The gorgeous golden hour was the perfect end to Miss Kyra’s senior session.
Kyra looked at ease on the country roads and in the tall grass, just as she did downtown. She posed by the white fences, and in the lush green forest. This boss babe has a quiet confidence, and I am so glad it showed through for her senior session. She has worked hard to overcome obstacles in high school, and I have loved seeing her gain more confidence through her time on the AHP Model Team.
