Best Friend Portrait Sessions
Friendships are so important throughout high school and beyond, and I love celebrating them with regular best friend portrait sessions. The craziness of 2020 for these seniors proved just how essential friends are for getting through the tough times. Seniors from the class of 2020 and 2021 have had to figure out remote learning, social distancing, and navigating a senior year that looked nothing like what they expected.
When I talk to my seniors, it’s clear that their friendships helped them through it all.
What to Wear for BFF Portraits
Is there anything more fun than coordinating outfits with your best friend? These portrait sessions are an ah-mazing excuse for you to go shopping (or browse the AHP Style Closet) and pick out fun outfits you might not normally choose.
Trends for 2020 included tie-dye, loungewear, Converse, and ripped jeans. These casual outfits are perfect for a portrait session with your bestie.
You can also choose to glam it up with formal dresses. Prom didn’t happen for the 2020 seniors, but we still had so much fun with prom friendship sessions at my studio in downtown Tacoma. Studio 253 is the best spot for indoor portraits! I have a ton of different backdrops, furniture, and props to bring your best friend portrait session to life. You can lounge on the couch, pose in front of a gallery wall, or choose to do modern portraits with a black or white background.
A Boost of Confidence
If you’ve been following along, you’ve probably read about my Project Beauty shoots. This is such an inspiring campaign, as the girls wear simple T-shirts and jeans, and no makeup. I don’t edit or retouch the photos, and their natural beauty and confidence show through. This kind of session is ah-mazing to do with your best friends. You can boost each other’s confidence throughout the session and keep each other laughing. The friendships formed on the AHP Model Team are so inspiring, and every year I look forward to seeing them develop.
AHP Model Team Class of 2022
I am in the process of selecting members for the Class of 2022 AHP Model Team! It will be so much fun to get these upcoming seniors together for the first time. I just know they will become fast friends and cheer each other on throughout their senior year.
The best friend portrait sessions I host each summer are an excuse for the Model Team girls to spend more time together in the summer. And they get to bring along one of their closest friends. The AHP Model Team gives these girls a chance to meet other seniors they may have otherwise never met! I choose just 20 girls each year, from different school districts and backgrounds. The result is a diverse team of girls who form lasting friendships.
