Hot Summer Day at Fort Steilacoom
It was a hot summer day at Fort Steilacoom for Miss Shelby’s senior portrait session – the hottest day of the year, in fact, in mid-August. This boss babe is a Class of 2021 AHP Model Team member, and I have simply loved getting to know her throughout her senior year.
Getting to Know the AHP Seniors
Each year, I pick a select number of girls to be on the AHP Model Team (20). This gives me a chance to really get to know each of them. I love learning about their interests, hobbies, and future plans. Miss Shelby is in Running Start at Pierce College, which gives her a head start on college courses and ensures she has a bright future ahead. She is hardworking and dependable, and she has been such a valuable addition to the Model Team. In addition to the Model Team, Shelby plays volleyball, races motorcycles, and works in the office of a construction company. I am in awe of how she balances it all!
Miss Shelby decided to apply for the AHP Model Team because she wanted to meet new girls and step outside of her comfort zone. She also knew it was a great opportunity to have beautiful portraits taken throughout her senior year! I love offering monthly photoshoots for my Model Team girls and making sure all the important parts of their senior year are captured.
Confidence is Key
Shelby is a bright, confident young woman. Having her on the Model Team is such a blessing. She loves giving everyone compliments and hypes the other girls up throughout each session. She’s so genuine, and she just wants everyone around her to feel included.
This ah-mazing senior rocked her senior portrait session, and I am so grateful she chose to be part of the team and have me capture her senior portraits. We met at Fort Steilacoom for a fun, rustic session.
Senior Portraits on A Hot Summer Day
We spent a hot summer day at Fort Steilacoom, and Shelby wore the best summer outfits. She kicked off her session with a flowy white camisole, frayed jeans, and cute sandals. A white floppy hat (borrowed from the AHP Style Closet) kept the sun out of her eyes. Her glam makeup was flawless, and she chose to wear her hair in a cute half-up style with loose curls. And her French manicure looked perfect!
Shelby’s casual looks were so cute, but she kicked it up a notch with a little black dress and delicate jewelry. I simply love this dressed up look in the country, and we posed by the rustic wood fence for a fun contrast. Ft. Stilly has tall fields of grass that are golden in the summer, and Shelby looked like a country music star. Since her favorite type of music is country, it only seemed fitting!
