Hearts-Themed Studio Shoot
Every year around February, we do a hearts-themed studio shoot. These portraits are a chance for us to celebrate Galentine’s Day / Valentine’s Day and to invite a few of our closest loved ones (pets included!) to see where all the magic happens: Studio253. Whether you’re coupled up, happily single, or looking for that special someone, I think love is always worth celebrating. That is how this shoot first came to be! If you love love as much as I do, make sure to check out our previous years’ V-Day posts on the blog too!
Galentine’s with the Senior Team
The month of February is full of reasons to celebrate. Not only is it my birth month, but it is also when I get to plan one of my favorite studio shoots all about L-O-V-E. Even if you aren’t a fan of traditional Valentine’s Day, there is still a lot of fun to be had both at the studio and around town in honor of the BFFs in your life. After all, what is more fun than putting on your favorite love-themed outfit, getting all glammed up, and celebrating with the girls? And a portrait session is a great way to keep these memories around even after all the flowers have wilted!
Cupid in the Studio
For this heartwarming session, we decorated our large studio space with different love-themed sets. We had strands of hearts hanging from the ceiling, a red chaise lounge, rose petals, balloons, and our fabulous “love” backdrop. This year, we even had a visit from Cupid herself! Dressed in red from bow to toe, this arrow-slinging Cupid made sure to land a drop of love on each of the couples in the studio! Sadly, we scared her away with the camera because there was one senior girl she seemed to have missed.
Do It with a Broken Heart
Even if you don’t care for the season of love, there are ways to make this time of year your own. All of my AHP girls are insanely creative, and one of our seniors took this shoot to the next level with her outfit idea. Although candy hearts and bouquets are fun, wherever there is love, there is always a chance of heartbreak. It’s all a part of the love game. Just like Taylor Swift, our senior girls can take their broken hearts and turn them into something AH-mazing. Complete with blood, Senior girl Gracie dodged Cupid’s arrows and designed a heartbreak fit that stole the show. I’m sure we will be seeing a lot more heartbreak fits during next year’s shoot! What do you think?
