Late August Senior Portraits
Late August senior portraits are some of my favorites! The warm, sunny weather. The fun, colorful outfits. From June until September, I think the city of Tacoma really shines. Of course, I love the PNW all year long, but as a California native who spent her teenage years growing up in Hawaii, the summer months are some of my favorites for taking pictures. This week, I am so excited to share the photos from Miss Madi’s senior portrait session that we did back in August! This girl is so much fun and she rocked her session until the very last shot!
Urban Cityscapes in Downtown Tacoma
The first half of Madi’s shoot was all about the city. We started right out the doors of Studio253 in the historic Opera Alley. Opera Alley is easily one of the most colorful, Instagram-able areas in Downtown Tacoma. Although many people still don’t know about it, this little street has been one of my go-to locations for senior portraits for years. Whether a senior wants bright, bold colors, or graffiti-decorated walls, there is something for everyone in this little area. Madi and I had fun snagging shots in front of a cute wildflower mural with little bees. After, we headed up to the top of a parking garage to get some scenic views of the city!
Model Team Perks
When you are a part of the Model Team, one of the perks is that you can select 3 locations for your portrait session! You also get up to 9 outfit changes to switch up your style from location to location. Madi is part of the AHP Class of 2024 and chose a combination of sundresses, crop tops, and trendy pants for her looks. After the city, we headed out to Pt. Defiance to make sure she had some photos with the colorful, rose garden flowers. And it wouldn’t be an AHP summer session if we didn’t end our day at the edge of the water just as the sun was setting. AH-mazing!
Senior Spotlight on Madi M!
There is so much I could say about this 2024 Bellarmine Prep senior! This year alone, she has had so many wonderful achievements that she’s shared with all of us. She did double the work in high school, playing on her school team here and with another team in Mexico. Plus, it looks like she will continue her soccer dreams into college. She just signed with Alabama to play with them for her freshman year. How cool is that?! Although she will be missed around the studio, we wish nothing but the best for Madi when she begins her new journey off in the South!
