Flower Garden Senior Portraits
We did Miss Francesca’s flower garden senior portraits at the well-known Pt. Defiance Gardens in Tacoma. Like many of my clients, I have worked with Francesca’s family before! A couple of years back, I got to do her big bro’s photos for his graduation. This year, it was her turn! I love the location she picked to celebrate the end of her senior year. The colorful gardens work so well with her bright personality and fun style. I think we really captured that spirit in the photos!
Multi-Location Session
One of the reasons we picked Pt. Defiance for this senior session was because of how versatile the space is! At locations like this, we can do what is called a “multi-location” shoot. This style of session looks like we have gone to many different spots throughout the day, but there is a twist. Really, all the photos were taken in just one spot! While we explore all over the park and its different areas, staying at one location helps us get more quality time behind the camera. By reducing our time spent in cars and the logistics that go into it, you can use that spare hour to try out new poses, outfits, or silly faces!
Exploring Point Defiance
With Francesca’s time, we got to see the many different areas that this Tacoma gem has to offer. Although Pt. Defiance has many different flower gardens (Dahlias, Fuscia, Iris, and more), they are most well known for their Rose Garden. We took lots of portraits here and with their bright green grass and other foliage which went perfectly with her golf-inspired outfit! This location is also close to the Marina and Owen Beach, so we are able to get not only the awesome park scenery but those classic PNW waterfront views too!
How to Rock Your Outfit Changes
With all these different spots to take photos, of course, we want lots of outfit changes as well! If you have never been a part of a senior session before, you might be wondering how the girls get changed every time they need to swap outfits. The answer: we have a changing tent! This fun pop-up hooks up to the back of my car (or any car) and acts as their personal dressing room for the duration of the shoot. Whether they have 2 outfits or 7, we make sure they have the privacy they need to switch up their looks and feel comfortable no matter the location. Curious what it looks like? Head over to the AHP Seniors Instagram to get a behind-the-scenes peek at the tent!
