Scouting Senior Portrait Locations
The end of summer is the perfect time for scouting senior portrait locations to bring a fresh feel to a new batch of high schoolers. At AHP Seniors, we needed some new locations for senior sessions and Model Team shoots. Luckily, I know some great people who were just perfect to assist with the task! I had some locations in mind, so we loaded up the van, and the girls and I hit the highways around Tacoma.
Model Team Mini Road Trip
Recently, I found out that one of the Senior Model Team girls has a 12-seater van. When I heard this news, I was so excited! I knew we had to go for a mini road trip/ pop-up shoot with the team! So we loaded up her van, with Mom and me as chauffeur and shotgun rider, and we were on our way! The five team girls who came along were from the Class of 2022, 2023, and 2024. This doesn’t always happen, and it was really cool getting to mix members from different years! Each girl provided a unique perspective and brought great energy to this pop-up shoot!
New AHP Locations in Tacoma
These are some locations that I had seen before and wanted to check out, and others are some we found while driving around. We started in one location with an awesome pink wall. I call this one of my CA-vibe locations. It will be a great addition for seniors who are looking for a beachy, Cali feel to their portraits. If pink isn’t your style, don’t worry. This next location might have something for you! The next stop on our road trip brought us toward an industrial area in Tacoma. There were colorful graffiti walls, a bright green textured building, and distressed brick. I cannot wait to come back and get more shots there soon! These backgrounds were so cool!
End of Summer Portrait Session
As our road trip came to an end and we headed home, we stopped along the way for some flowers in bloom!!! Everything about the day was so much fun and finding these flowers was just the treat to make it even better. Each year I like to add a few new locations to my repertoire and the end of summer is a great time for it! A lot of seniors schedule their sessions for fall when the weather is still warm enough to wear summer clothes, but cool enough if you want to wear your favorite fall outfits! I really wanted to find some fun new spots and with the help of my team girls, we made it happen! Who wants to be the first to take their senior portraits here???
