Team ‘23 Fall Photos
We got SO lucky with these Model Team ‘23 fall photos! Fall can be a tricky time when it comes to planning portrait sessions. From windy and rainy weather to completely changing locations. We always do our best to keep on our toes and plan for these scenarios. And having the best Model Team in Washington makes that possible! This past fall, I sent out the text to the girls, and 4 of them were able to come THAT DAY to take some cute photos before the leaves fell. How awesome is that?? Take a look below to see the AH-mazing photos from that day.
Thanksgiving Portraits at Wright Park
The hardest part about scheduling any portraits in the fall is that the leaves fall!! And just like that, the biggest highlight for the season, or at least of the background, is gone. No more colorful pops of leaves hanging from the sky! Part of my job (though it’s impossible to control the weather) is to keep a lookout for the weather patterns that year. Some years, like this one, the leaves don’t turn until really late into the season. Which means we end up pushing some of our shoots back as long as we can. Thanksgiving morning, knowing a big wind storm was on its way, I put out a call for my senior models. Luckily, a few were able to sneak away to Wright Park in Tacoma and join me for this fun, leafy, park shoot. A big thank you to those families for sharing your babies with me, especially on Thanksgiving!!
Fall TikTok Trends
The morning sun was so pretty that crisp morning! The girls showed up in their cute, fall sweaters and jackets, and we started shooting! I love the versatility that fall portraits allow. We get to play in the leaves, use them as props, but still show off that awesome sunshine and green grass. Plus, I got to use a new editing technique that I’ve been dying to try. For some of our poses, we had to try out the famous TikTok “leaves in the umbrella” trend. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check the videos out here. I’ve got to say, the shots were a success! Not to mention, it was incredibly fun to see each of the girl’s reactions! And capture them on camera! We are so lucky we did this shoot when we did because a few days later, all the leaves fell and the trees were bare! Talk about a Thanksgiving blessing!
Leaving Your Senior Year with Confidence
Our Fall photoshoots are a bittersweet time. They mean my year with the girls is coming to an end. On one hand, I cannot wait to see where their lives take them. On the other, I hate to see them go! While I will miss seeing each of them dearly, I know they are heading out with a tool kit (or should I say makeup bag??) full of skills that will help them succeed in anything they want to try! After being on the team for almost a year, the class of 2023’s confidence has grown immensely. I can see it in the way they carry themselves and how their portraits change. They are a tight-knit group of young women who aren’t afraid of trying new things or getting out of their comfort zones. Skills that will be useful to them as they take on the new challenges that lay ahead. And I could not be more proud of how each one of them has grown!
