BFF Summer Portraits

Carly is on the 2023 Model Team and wanted to shoot some BFF summer portraits with her gym friends! I couldn’t wait to make it happen! This sunny shoot was a great opportunity to get these ladies out of their everyday routine and into the best girls’ day session. Senior year is full of exciting moments and events to help friends enjoy their last year together, but it can go by so fast. I love that Carly and her friends will be able to look back on these photos and remember the fun they all shared! 

Ladies’ Day at The Rose Gardens

As a senior photographer, I want to make sure that everything about your senior year is captured! A huge part of that is the friendships you have. So why not create a session dedicated just to that? BFF shoots are also one of the perks of being on the AHP Model Team! You get to plan a special session with your friends and spend the day making the best memories. For this summer session, the ladies decided on white sundresses and pink manicures in the rose garden at Point Defiance. They came, they frolicked, they flexed their strong gym muscles, and it was so much fun!! Don’t ever let someone tell you you can’t be strong and beautiful. These girls prove that completely wrong!

Letting Your Personality Shine on Camera

I love meeting the friends of my team girls! It allows me to see more of their personalities and get to know them better. It’s one of the best parts of my job and the reason I love working with seniors year after year! We interact on our shoots by laughing, dancing, sharing music, and joking. Not only does it let me get to know the girls, but it also helps them to feel comfortable behind the camera. Because I know camera anxiety is totally real! We all bring our worries and fears into a shoot with us. But my goal is that by the end of the day, we are all able to cast those aside and end the session feeling better than we came in. And we get much better photos when our seniors’ personalities come out and shine! There is no hiding on the team, only shining! So why not shine bright?

Strong and Confident Seniors

Being gymnasts, these ladies are powerful and strong, and I wanted to share that. They are boss babes on the mat, at school, at home, AND for the camera! It is so easy to look at pictures of ourselves, look in the mirror, and only see our imperfections. Too easy to compare our life and body to others. But part of my mission with this work is that every one of these ladies feels beautiful in their skin. I want to remind them that their perceived flaws are actually what makes them unique and 100% beautiful! During this shoot, Carly was able to show off the ease and confidence she was gaining behind the camera, and she did the photo walk in the setting sun’s rays PERFECTLY! Each of the girls got to try their own model walk too. I can’t wait to see them take that confidence into the rest of their senior year!
