City Senior Portraits in Tacoma
Miss Shannon and I had so much fun shooting her city senior portraits in Tacoma. This gorgeous girl was a Class of 2020 graduate and a member of the Elite School of Dance. One of my seniors referred her to me, for which I am so grateful. Client referrals are so important for small businesses, and I love hearing that my seniors have recommended me to their friends.
We scouted out three locations in Tacoma for a modern look, including downtown, Opera Alley, and Point Defiance. I simply love having these locations close to my AH-mazing studio.
The Versatility of Tacoma for Senior Portraits
Tacoma offers so many possibilities for senior portrait sessions. I offer seniors a VIP Experience, and I love getting to bring their vision to life during their session. Since Shannon wanted an urban vibe for her senior portraits, we kicked off her session downtown. We found some bold graffiti for her to pose in front of and explored the area near the train tracks.
Opera Alley is another one of my favorite spots for outdoor senior sessions because there are so many fun and vibrant backdrops. The colorful walls add so much interest to the city, and it’s always fun when the background matches what the senior is wearing!
Point Defiance Rose Garden Portraits
Another perk of taking senior portraits in Tacoma is how close we are to the Point Defiance Rose Garden. This gorgeous spot has the best flowers, and we lucked out in mid-September with some gorgeous blooms. The rose garden is so colorful, and the landscaping is simply stunning. Shannon rocked this part of the session in her summery outfit. She was simply glowing as we explored the garden and had her pose in front of all the different flowers.
What to Wear for City Senior Portraits in Tacoma
Miss Shannon rocked every single one of her outfits! A little white dress is a staple for summer, and Shannon chose to go barefoot in the garden with her off-the-shoulder sundress. For her portraits in the city, she chose a more modern look with a zip-front skirt, tights, and boots. And when we explored Opera Alley, she wore a Clueless-inspired plaid jumper from the 90s and a fitted white top. This is one of my favorite vintage looks.
I love working with my seniors on styling, and even have an entire Style Closet at the studio with all the latest trends. That includes fun dresses, jackets, shoes, and accessories for every season. It’s an awesome way to try out new trends and be in style for your senior portrait session without having to buy an all-new wardrobe!
