Fun Day at Studio 253 | AHP Model Team
Winter in the PNW can be dreary, so I organized a fun day at Studio 253 for the AHP Model Team. If you haven’t been to my ah-mazing studio yet, this will give you a fun glimpse of the different backdrops and decorations we have set up for portrait sessions and photoshoots.
The AHP Model Team put on their cutest pastels and cozy outfits for this photoshoot. The studio has gorgeous natural light, and we played up the whimsical vibes with string lights, fluffy clouds, and textured pillows. I wanted the girls to feel at home and get inspired for how to decorate their dorm rooms next year!
COVID Protocol for Photoshoots
COVID has changed our daily routines, and that applies to how we handle group photoshoots for the AHP Model Team. I wanted this to be a fun day at Studio 253, but I also wanted it to be safe. We had the girls come in groups of five at most. Each “pod” of girls spent an hour in the studio, having fun with the different props and backdrops.
The AHP Model Team is an awesome group of girls. Their senior year has not looked at all like what they hoped it would, but they have remained positive throughout the year. These boss babes cheer each other on, and I am so grateful I have witnessed their friendships grow throughout the year. Every month, we host themed shoots to give the girls a chance to see each other and discuss big events like applying to college and preparing for graduation. They also get to let their hair down and just have fun for the day.
Lights and Clouds
I simply love styling a photoshoot with lights and clouds. The fluffy clouds in the studio feel so magical, and string lights gave the photoshoot the look of a starry sky. We draped sheer tulle across the studio too, which let the light through while giving each portrait an ethereal feel. The girls wore light colors, including cozy white sweaters and soft pastel tops. And they went the extra mile with glam makeup and touches of shimmer. The result was heavenly!
Cozy Corner at Studio 253
For this fun photoshoot, we set up a corner of the studio to look like a cozy bedroom. I simply love playing with different textures when styling a session. We chose different throw pillows, cute blankets, and a fuzzy rug, all in different shades of ivory for this cozy corner. The girls had so much fun posing in this corner. I hope a few of them felt inspired for what they want their dorm room to look like.
By Tezza Collage Wall
Decorating your dorm room is one of the most exciting parts of starting college. You want your room to reflect your style and interests so that you feel at home even if you’re far away. It’s also a great way to let your roommate and new friends get an idea of what you love.
This year, I added a Tezza Collage wall to the studio. These awesome kits come with 150 photographs that you can use to decorate a wall in your bedroom, office, or dorm room. I think they’re such a cute idea for seniors heading off to college! The Tezza Collage wall in the studio has all different tones of pink. It’s such a feminine aesthetic, and I just love how it turned out. We placed a cute, modern white chair in this corner, and the girls took turns posing with the fun, vibrant collage in the background.
