Lake Tapps Senior Portrait Session
This gorgeous Lake Tapps senior portrait session will have you ready for fall! Kathleen is lucky enough to live by the lake, so we captured her senior portraits right in her own backyard last fall. September is one of the best months for senior portrait sessions, and I am here to share why.
Getting Pampered
Before her senior portrait session, Kathleen was pampered by my pro hair and makeup artist, Kara. Kathleen was able to just relax in her house overlooking the lake while Kara glammed her up! Kathleen wore her hair down in soft curls and opted for soft colors. Her makeup complemented every outfit perfectly and highlighted her gorgeous natural features.
Pro hair and makeup is part of every AHP senior session. My team knows how to make you look your absolute best for the camera. Plus, who doesn’t love a couple of hours of pampering?
Backyard Senior Portraits
Kat is so lucky to have Lake Tapps in her own backyard. I loved capturing this backyard senior portrait session because we really got to see Kathleen in her element. Your senior portraits should reflect who you are and what you love.
We explored Lake Tapps by walking around and by taking golf carts. This was such an adventurous session and Kat and I had so much fun together. We stopped by her neighbor’s house to capture a few portraits by their palm trees! I just love the mix of PNW and tropical vibes.
Gorgeous Light at Lake Tapps
We had gorgeous light for Kathleen’s Lake Tapps senior portrait session. I always schedule shoots for the two to three hours before sunset, because it guarantees yummy golden light. The way the sun peeked through the trees as it set over the lake was absolutely perfect! We had a blast chasing the light around the lake.
September is such an ah-mazing month in Washington! We had clear blue skies and warm weather. Kathleen picked the best fall outfits for her senior portraits, too.
Fall Fashion
The best outfits for senior portraits often involve layers. Kat wore frayed hem jeans and an off the shoulder sweater for some of her portraits – so trendy and cute! She also wore a casual T-shirt and sweater combo with delicate layered necklaces. I love the layered jewelry trend, and it’s such an ah-mazing away to kick your outfit up a notch.
It was warm enough for Kathleen to wear a cute striped dress layered with a classic jean jacket. The jean jacket is one of the best layers to bring along to your summer or fall senior portrait session. It’s so versatile and timeless.
